Challenge
Separate critical exceptions from routine order movement

A Fermi & Frost product concept

What does the dispatcher need to see first?

Dozens of couriers move across the map. Most deliveries are on schedule, but the dispatcher’s attention is split across all of them. By the time a customer asks about a delay, it may be too late to change the route.

The map shows where the courier is. The decision needs something else: which order is at risk of missing its promise, and what can still be changed.

02 / PRODUCT DECISION

See the exception.
Act in time.

The default view is an exception queue. Each item shows the source of risk, time until the promise is missed and available actions.

INTERFACE CONCEPT / SCENARIO PARAMETERS

INSIDE THE SOLUTION

What should
work differently.

01

Risk before activity

Priority reflects proximity to a missed deadline, not the time of the latest update.

02

An explainable suggestion

Reassignment shows the expected effect on nearby deliveries.

03

The person makes the decision

The system gathers the context; the dispatcher chooses an action and sees its consequences.

How to tell
whether it is better.

Replay several shifts with known exceptions and compare when a risk was detected with when action was still possible. Then test the queue alongside a dispatcher, without automatic reassignment.

Test one exception type — a pickup delay — before expanding the rules.
